Police Service of Scotland

On 1st April 2013 the Police Service of Scotland became the single national force for Scotland. Amalgamating the previous constituent forces of:
Central Scotland Police, Dumfries & Galloway Constabulary, Fife Constabulary, Grampian Police, Lothian & Borders Police, Northern Constabulary, Strathclyde Police and Tayside Police.

As part of the Air Support Unit he died when the Police Scotland helicopter crashed into a pub in Glasgow city centre.

Died 29 November 2013, aged 51
As part of the Air Support Unit he died when the Police Scotland helicopter crashed into a pub in Glasgow city centre.

Died 16 May 2014
Travelling to Galashiels Police Office to commence duty his motorcycle was involved in a fatal collision with a bus.
