Killed when terrorist gunmen fired into his house while he was off duty.

A retired officer, killed with his wife by a terrorist under-car booby trap bomb.

Collapsed and died of heart failure while dispersing rioters attacking police.

Killed when he was repeatedly stabbed in a violent struggle to arrest a suspect.

Posthumously awarded the Queen's Commendation for Brave Conduct.

Fatally stabbed when, although off duty, he attempted to arrest a handbag thief.

Fatally injured when her police patrol vehicle was hit by a terrorist mortar bomb.

Glenn Thomas Goodman

Special Constable, North Yorkshire Police

Shot dead by terrorist gunmen while checking a suspect car in the early hours.

7 June 1992, aged 37
