Died 26 December 2007,
aged 47
During the early evening, with other officers, he attended the report of a domestic incident at a house in Wembley, North London, where he was involved in a violent struggle to arrest a man inside the premises; the officer subsequently collapsed outside the house and died soon afterwards from heart failure.
Chris had joined the police in
1983 and served on Brent Borough since 2000
where he was stationed
at Wembley Police Station on a response team.
He is survived
by his wife, their daughter aged 9 and son aged 7 years,
his
adult son from a former marriage, and his mother and two sisters.

David Walker

Died 10 October 2007,
aged 50
Killed in a road traffic collision while he was travelling to report for early
turn duty when his motorcycle was struck by a car at Bradford.
A 20 year old man has been charged with causing Death by Dangerous Driving.
Ian joined the Force in March 1980 serving on uniform
patrol, traffic and community policing; since last year he had been
stationed at Bradford as a Roads Policing Officer.
He is survived
by his fiancee, his parents, a brother and two children.

Died 3 October 2007,
aged 39
Killed in a motorcycle accident while travelling to report for duty at Tonbridge when she lost control of her machine and was then struck by a car at Goudhurst.
Katie had more than 10 years police service
and was stationed at Tonbridge. She held a degree from Leeds University
and was a volunteer worker with the Wildlife Heritage Foundation.
She is survived by her parents and was their only child.

Died 10 September 2007,
aged 21
Killed in a road traffic accident while on bicycle patrol when he sustained fatal head injuries in a collision with a wagon at a road junction in Hindley Green.
Christopher joined GMP as a PCSO in January 2007 and was stationed at
Bamfurlong Police Station, Wigan.
He is survived by his fiancée, his parents and three older brothers.
Malcolm Whigham

Died 16 August 2007,
aged 42
Killed in a road traffic accident when his police motorcycle was in a collision with a car at Pumpherston, near Livingston, West Lothian, while working on secondment with the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency.
Malcolm was appointed in March 1996 following service as a Special Constable; he worked on beat duties and in the CID before being seconded to the SCDEA in January 2005 on specialist duties relating to serious crime. He had two commendations for good police work.
He is survived by his wife and daughters aged 20 and 17, his mother, two brothers and sister.
Andrew Graham Gough

Died 8 August 2007,
aged 41
Killed in a motorcycle accident while travelling to report for night duty at Filton, Bristol, when he was in collision with a car which emerged from a nearside junction near Biddestone in Wiltshire.
Andy had been a Special Constable in Warminster for several years before joining the Constabulary in October 2006; he was based at Filton Police Station in Bristol.
He is survived by his fiancée, a serving Special Constable, and her daughter aged 8 years;
his daughter aged 13 and son aged 12 from a previous marriage; his father and two sisters.

Died 21 June 2007,
aged 47
Died as a result of head injuries sustained in an accidental fall in the police barracks, while attending a two-week multi-national public order training exercise, at the National Gendarmerie training centre near Bordeaux in France.
Derek had 28 years service in Strathclyde and was attached to the Courts Branch in Glasgow, where he had also been a part time Public Order Instructor.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters aged 16 and 13 years;
his parents and his brother and sister.
Jonathan
Charles Henry

Died 11 June 2007,
aged 36
Police officers attended a report of a member of the public being stabbed in the street in the early morning in Luton town centre, where they confronted a man armed with a knife and attempted to arrest him when, despite wearing body armour, PC Henry was stabbed twice in the chest and fatally wounded.
His assailant was arrested at the scene by armed officers and has been charged with his murder and the attempted murder of two members of the public.
Jon fulfilled his lifelong
ambition of becoming a police officer when he was appointed to the Force on
17 May 2004,
where he was serving on uniform patrol at Luton.
He
is survived by his wife and baby daughter, his parents, brother
and three sisters.
His name has been added to the Roll of Honour at the National Police Memorial in London.
Robert Victer Shiels

Died 7 June 2007,
aged 45
Collapsed and died of heart failure while on duty in the CID office at Downpatrick Police Station, Co. Down.
Victer joined the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve in 1980 and was appointed a full time constable in 1985; he had been awarded three commendations for good police work.
He is survived by his wife, their son aged 4 and daughter aged 8 years,
his mother and two sisters.
Richard
Gray

Died 6 May 2007,
aged 43
After unarmed officers, attending an early morning disturbance at a house in Shrewsbury, were held at gunpoint, PC Gray arrived at the scene with an armed response unit; as he and a colleague went to the back of the house PC Gray was confronted by the gunman and he was shot in the head with a rifle and killed.
The
gunman was found shot dead nearby; an inquest returned verdicts
that
PC Gray was unlawfully killed and his assailant committed
suicide.
Ricky was from Dundee and served as
a soldier in the Black Watch between 1981 and 1997 when his police career began with the Cheshire Constabulary. In 2003 he transferred to West Mercia working as an authorised firearms officer attached to
the Armed Response Team at Shrewsbury. Whilst with West
Mercia he was commended five times, including two Divisional Commendations
for assisting with rescues, and a Judge's Commendation and two Chief
Constable's Commendations for bravery in arresting violent suspects armed
with firearms.
He is survived by his wife,
his two adult
sons from a previous marriage, and his sister.
His name has been added to the Roll of Honour at the National Police Memorial in London.

Died 2 March 2007,
aged 24
Killed
in a road traffic accident while travelling to report for duty
at Oakley when her car lost control on an icy road and
overturned near Dunfermline.
Kirsty
was appointed in February 2005 and had just completed her probation;
she
was stationed at West Fife Villages Police Station at Oakley.
She
was survived by her husband and their 3 year old son.

Died 26 February 2007,
aged 47
Whilst on duty at Cheltenham
Police Station he became unwell, as a result of which he returned home where
he died soon afterwards from heart failure.
Steven was due to retire in
October this year after 30 years service, most of which was spent as a
detective including work on the Regional Crime Squad and Major Crime Investigation
Unit.
He is survived by his wife, two step-daughters
aged 18 and 12 years,
and his adult daughter and son from a previous marriage.
Stacey
Victoria Pyke

Died 15 January 2007, aged
20
Killed in a car crash when her vehicle was in collision with a car near Market Deeping whilst she was driving home after her first full night duty at Spalding.
Stacey had less than six months service having
been appointed in August 2006
and was stationed at Spalding Police Station.
She
is survived by her parents and younger sister.
