NATIONAL POLICE MEMORIAL DAY
ROLL OF HONOUR

The Roll of Honour for the National Police Memorial Day is provided by the Police Roll of Honour Trust and published annually in a Commemmorative Booklet at the Memorial Day Service. The Roll gives details of all names on the National Police Officers Roll of Honour.
We have a limited number of Booklets which are now available free to Police Family Members of the Trust and may be purchased by other members and donors to the Trust while stocks last.


NATIONAL POLICE MEMORIAL DAY COMMEMMORATIVE BOOKLET AND ROLL OF HONOUR

The inaugural annual service was held at St. Paul's Cathedral on Sunday 3rd October 2004.

The Booklet is a high quality production A4 size in glossy card covers. The 2004 edition contains 100 pages of which the Roll of Honour covers 80 pages.

The 2004 Memorial Day pages include an Introduction by the Prime Minister; information on the National Police Memorial Day and Associated Charities, including Police Roll of Honour Trust, Care of Police Survivors, Scottish Police Memorial Trust, The Police Memorial Trust, and RUC George Cross Garden; a brief history of the UK Police Service and history of St. Paul's Cathedral.

The 2004 Roll of Honour contains some 3,570 names and citations since 1703 and includes a Foreword by HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary and Trust Patron, Sir Keith Povey; an Intoduction by Trust Chairman and author of the Roll of Honour, Anthony Rae; Appendices including an Index of current Police Forces; Criteria for inclusion on the Roll; other notes, information on the Trust and acknowledgements.

The second service was held at St. David's Hall, Cardiff on Sunday 2nd October 2005.

The 2005 edition has 126 pages and the Roll covers 96 pages. The 30 Memorial Day pages are in both English and Welsh.

The 2005 Roll is enhanced by illustrated citations for the 14 officers who have died in the line of duty since the last service. The Roll has had 175 new names added, 455 new citations added to existing names and 75 other amendments. The format is enlarged for easier reading.
