Died 12 January 2008, aged 40

PC Hart, aged 40, was killed in a road traffic accident, while responding to an emergency incident just before midnight on 12 January 2008, when the police
van he was driving was in collison with a car at Openshaw; the police vehicle overturned and he sustained major head injuries from which he died instantly.

Christopher had just over four years service and was a response officer based at Bury; in 2005 he was awarded a Divisional Commander's commendation for his professionalism and calmness in helping rescue a child from a violent incident.

He is survived by his son, aged 6, and his parents of whom he was their only surviving child following the death of his brother Andrew, aged 17, in 1987.
