Killed in a road traffic accident while travelling to report for duty in the early morning, when his car broke down and as he was crossing the A38 near Alfreton, he was struck by a lorry and died instantly.

Timothy had completed 9 years service having been appointed in May 1992.

He was survived by his wife, their son aged 10 and daughter aged 8 years.
