Died 19 August 1994, aged 36

The officer was killed in a road traffic accident, together with a colleague,
while engaged on CID duties, when their vehicle, in which he was a passenger,
lost control and collided with a lorry on a country lane near Denby
.

 Gary had completed 19 years service with the force having been appointed
on 21st June 1976 following 9 months service as a Police Cadet. He was
a trained firearms officer and had worked on the Drugs Squad and the
Fraud Squad and was stationed at Alfreton.

He was survived by his fiancée and their son aged 2 years.
