  Donald McKinnon Anderson

 Police Constable

Alloa Burgh Police

Died  14 December 1875, aged 38

 

While patrolling his beat on the late evening of 24 November, he slipped on a piece of orange peel and fell to the ground, breaking his leg; infection set in resulting in amputation of the limb and his subsequent death.

 


 

Peter McLaren

 

Police Constable

Stirlingshire Constabulary

Died  2 October 1908, aged 21

 

Went missing from his beat in Grangemouth in the early hours and was later found drowned in the canal basin near the police office having, it was supposed, accidentally fallen in the water during the foggy weather.

 


 

John Duncan Gordon

 

Inspector

Stirling and Clackmannan Constabulary

Died  9 January 1956, aged 47

 

Collapsed and died of heart failure while at his desk in Bridge of Allan Police Station.

 


 

Joseph Stewart Drake

 

Police Constable

Stirling and Clackmannan Constabulary

Died  11 August 1967, aged 38

 

Killed while attempting to stop a stolen motor lorry being pursued by police when it struck his patrol car at a road-block at Dennyloanhead near Falkirk.

 


 

James Mason

 

Constable

Central Scotland Police

Died 27 November 1976, aged 27

 

Fatally injured when his police car was involved in an accident.

 


 

Edward Bell

 

Special Constable

Central Scotland Police

Died  9 August 1981, aged 35

 

Died in the early hours as a result of multiple injuries, including a fractured skull, sustained while on patrol with two regular officers, when their police vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle at Bonnybridge.

 


 

Henry John Gauld Lawrie BEM

 

Police Sergeant

Central Scotland Police

Died  1st February 1987

 

Killed while assisting in a search and rescue operation on Ben More mountain, when the helicopter he was aboard, was hit by a sudden squall while trying to manoeuvre onto a ledge, and crashed into the mountainside.

 


 

Edward James Walton

 

Police Constable

Central Scotland Police

Died  13 May 1989, aged 34

 

Killed when the police patrol van, in which he was observer, went out of control and collided with an oncoming car late at night near Alloa.
