POLICE FAMILY SUPPORT This Page is Dedicated to Our Friend |
|
|
|
The Trust aims to remember both those who have died and those left behind. We are pleased to hear from families, partners and relatives of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. Whether you wish to know more about how your loved one will be remembered, or about support available to bereaved families and friends, or simply to seek advice, please feel free to contact us. Any relative or partner of an officer on the Roll may register as a Police Family Member of the Trust without cost or commitment and you are invited to do so. This allows us to keep in touch with families, exchanging information on fallen officers and their memorials. We currently maintain contact with over 375 families. Through our Police Family Membership and links with associated charities, we are able to provide access to information not only on how our fallen officers are remembered but also on the care and support available to bereaved families. The Trust has no trained counsellors but has years of experience dealing with bereaved police families; the Trust's founder and Chairman, Anthony Rae, has 30 years police experience and has suffered personal bereavements
with the premature sudden deaths of his father, his brother and, in 2006, his young son. For an application form or further information just click here or call us on Freephone 0800 652 6109. |

Verses for the Bereaved |
|
|
All is Well Death is nothing at all. It does not count. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. |
“We Remember Them” At the rising of the sun and at its At the blowing of the wind and in At the opening of buds and in the At the blueness of the skies and in the At the rustling of leaves and in the At the beginning of the year and As long as we live, they too will live; When we are weary and in need When we are lost and sick at heart, When we have decisions that are When we
have joys we yearn to share, As long as we live, they too shall live, as we remember them…. |
RememberRemember
me when I am gone away, Remember
me when no more day by day Yet if
you should forget me for a while Than that you should remember and be sad. -------------------------------------------- Christina Rossetti (1830-1894) |
Song (Requiem)When
I am dead, my dearest, |
|
The Rose Beyond the Wall
Near shady wall a rose once grew, As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Onward it crept with added strength,
The light, the dew, the broadening view,
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve
Scattering fragrance far and wide |
A Parable of Immortality I am standing upon that
foreshore. |
|
Do not stand at my grave and weep Do not stand at my grave
and weep, I am a thousand winds that blow, When you awaken in the morning’s hush Do not stand at my grave and cry, |
For the Fallen They
shall grow not old, Age shall not weary them, At the going down of the sun
We will remember them. |
