
FUNDING
Fundraising
Funds will be
raised through the following methods (but not to the exclusion of
other methods):
- Direct appeals to all UK police forces, federations and
staff associations;
- Direct appeals to other charitable organisations;
- Appeals in the police press, both locally and nationally;
- Appeals in the public press, both locally and nationally;
- Appeals via television and radio media;
- Invitation of donations on correspondence;
- The writing of related articles for the police press;
- The selling of citations, Rolls of Honour and other publications.
- The selling of greeting cards, badges and
other memorabilia;
The Trust will
not knowingly solicit donations from families of officers killed
in the line of duty and this will be made clear on relevant
correspondence.
Disposal
of Funds
The funds will be used for the following purposes (but
not to the exclusion of other purposes in line with the
objects):
- All funds shall be used exclusively for the achievement
of the objects and no person shall benefit financially
from the fund except where reasonable compensation is
paid for professional services including the payment
of salaries necessary to employ any person for the purposes of the research
and production of
the Roll or in connection with the management of the Trust.
- To cover any reasonable costs of research including
travel, accommodation and subsistence.
- To cover any reasonable costs of attending any appropriate Police Memorial, Remembrance or
Dedication Service.
- To cover any reasonable costs of of
promoting the work of the Trust including advertising and attending any conference,
exhibition or other venue for that purpose and the purchase of cards, badges
and other merchandise.
- To cover any reasonable costs of administration including
the rent of office premises and the provision of computer and other office equipment,
stationery, telephone and postage costs.
- To cover any reasonable costs of production and
publication of the Roll by any method including an internet website
and its
printing and publication in a ceremonial book of
remembrance.
- To cover any reasonable costs of inscribing the names on
a permanent physical monument at any memorial site.
- To provide citations or other publications
to relatives free of charge and to
assist in need any dependant or relative of an officer
killed on duty including financial assistance to visit
any memorial site.
- To cover any other reasonable costs directly relating to
the compilation of the Roll of Honour or upkeep of the historical Archive.
- The fund shall be administered by the Trustees who shall
decide on the disposal of any monies.
- The fund shall be held in a Treasurers Charity
Bank Account.
- No monies shall be drawn from the fund except upon the
signatures of two of the Trustees.
